Christoph Oberholzer, born in 1964, lives and works as a freelance architect and artist in Rikon ZH and Zurich, Switzerland. During his architectural studies at the Technikum Winterthur (1985-1988), he began his artistic work with installations for alternative art projects around Winterthur. Stays abroad in Central America and southern Africa and the intimate contacts with traditionally organised ethnic groups there led to an intensive artistic confrontation with his own values and their transmission. In his works, Christoph Oberholzer focuses on observations of nature and human culture as well as his own investigations of geological and physical kind.
